Hong Kong’s Competition Ordinance (“CO”) came into full effect on 14 Dec 2015. During the preparation phase, the Competition Commission was established and guidelines, policies and other publications prepared. The CO serves to safeguard and enhance a competitive environment for consumers and businesses in Hong Kong by prohibiting anti-competitive conduct by businesses. The presentation will focus on an overview of the CO, the main prohibitions in the CO, insights into the Commission’s enforcement priorities and tips for HKIFA members to ensure compliance. |
